Prof. Gregory Knapp is researching geotourism and sustainable development study abroad programs in Ecuador this summer, funded by a UT Sustainability and Ethics Award. He is investigating the roles of geotourism and sustainable development study abroad programs in promoting community goals, in the context of Ecuador's constitutional mandate for respect for the environment and appropriate life styles (buen vivir).  He is also studying agricultural change and modernization in the context of the "21st century socialism" of the Correa regime.
