Celebrate GeoWeek 2013- November 17th through the 23rd

Please join the UT Geography Society and the Department of Geography and the Environment in celebrating Geography Awareness Week (GeoWeek), November 17th-23rd, 2013. This year's GeoWeek theme is “Geography and the New Age of Exploration,” and focuses on how geography enables us all to be intrepid explorers in our own way.

Monday 18th, 5:00pm : CLA Entrance 

We are kicking off the campus challenge by hanging our official "GeoWeek" posters around campus and by chalking the chalkboards inside classrooms. Participating will earn you 1 of the required service points needed to be a full Geography Society member! Meet in the CLA foyer on the first floor.

Tuesday 19th, 5:00pm : CLA 1.108

Topic: Mobile Cinema

Wednseday 20th, 5:00pm: JGB 2.218

Movie Night! Come join us for a showing of The Milagro Beanfield War... we have popcorn

Thursday 21st, 7:00pm: Kerbey Lane Cafe (2606 Guadalupe Street)

LET THERE BE QUESO! Thursday evening we're heading down to Kerbey Lane Cafe for the first, ever Kerbey Queso Colloquium. This is a great way to connect with the department in a fun, informal setting and find out more about Geography Society. Plus, there will be free queso... and who doesn't like free queso? 

Friday 22nd, 5:00pm: George Washington Statue (South Mall in front of the Tower)- Cancelled*

Show off your mad, GPS skills in our GPS Scavenger Hunt! GPS units will be provided and there will a prize for the winner! We will send out the official rules in a separate email to the list-serve.
