Faculty win course development funding from Texas Language Center

The Texas Language Center  announce that three member of the faculty of the Department of Germanic studies are among its first cohort of Professional Development Award winners for 2010! These awards are made to instructors of languages other than English at UT who are seeking to develop new materials, courses, or methods for teaching their languages, or who may need to attend a conference or purchase materials in order to improve their teaching.


Kit Belgum's award will support the design of an undergraduate course module entitled “Debating about Contemporary Germany:  A Collocation-Oriented Approach to Advanced Conversation and Composition.”  Per Urlaub and Zsuzanna Abrams together have received a TLC Professional Development award for their project, "The Reformed Language/Culture/Literacy Curriculum for Second-Year German Instruction."  Congratulations to the faculty and students involved!
