Film Screening: "Der Golem," 1920 horror classic

The Schusterman Center for Jewish Studies and the Austin Jewish Film Festival will host a screening of the 1920 German horror film, "Der Golem" ("The Golem: How He Came Into the World"). The screening will include live musical accompaniment by Rubinchik's Yiddische Ensemble.
Following the screening, Jewish scholar Byron Sherwin will discuss "The Legend of the Golem" at 7 p.m. in the Prothro Auditorium at the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center. Sherwin is the author of "Golems Among Us: How a Jewish Legend Can Help us Navigate the Biotech Century" (2004).
