Robbie Earle Wins University Co-op/George H. Mitchell Undergraduate Student Award for Academic Excellence

Tue, April 14, 2009

Robbie Earle has won a University Co-op/George H. Mitchell Undergraduate Student Award for Academic Excellence for his thesis, "African Voices and Policy Effort: Why Public Opinion Matters in the Fight Against AIDS." Robbie will receive an award of up to $20,000 at the annual award banquet April 29. Catherine Boone and Kenneth Greene supervised the thesis.

Only nine students across the entire university receive these awards each year, and Department of Government honors students have won in each of the last two years. Austin Wright, a triple major currently writing a thesis in Sociology and one of this year’s 12 Dean’s Distinguished Graduates, won a University Co-op/George H. Mitchell Award for his Government thesis, written last year and supervised by Kenneth Greene and R. Harrison Wagner.
