Drawing from current and historical examples from around the world, this day-long workshop will address why and how people become displaced, the problems that refugees and migrants face, how they rebuild their lives in new countries, and what happens when they are sent back to their countries of origin.

Join us for a hands-on workshop that will give K-16 educators the tools to start speaking and understanding the Portuguese language in the context of Brazilian culture. Workshop participants will also be introduced to Portuguese resources at The University of Texas that can be utilized in their classrooms.
