On January 22, 1879, the Zulus fought the British Army in the Battle of Rorke's Drift. The Zulus outnumbered the British 4000 to 140. As the film Zulu was released during decolonization, this depiction of a colonial conquest is especially interesting.

Zulu stars Michael Caine in his first leading role. It was directed by the blacklisted American screenwriter Cy Enfield. The British recognize as one of the greatest war films ever made.
