A note from Ryan: "I intend to focus on Hegel's philosophy of history and how it related to interpreting the macro-historical causes of the French Revolution. This paper also examines different aspects of 19th century history and Hegel's philosophy, touching on emerging concepts of freedom and liberation which would play such a decisive role in the revolutionary politics of the 19th and 20th century."
