NAIS Undergraduate Certificate Student Roberto Flotte named 2012 Dean's Distinguished Graduate

NAIS is proud to announce and congratulate Roberto Flotte, one of only twelve Dean's Distinguished Graduates in the College of Liberal Arts for 2012. Mr. Flotte will graduate this spring with not only a Native American and Indigenous Studies certificate, but also with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Mexican-American Studies. His Honors thesis explored the impacts of a mine construction project on the ancestral territory of the Huichol people of Western Central Mexico.
Mr. Flotte has also made substantial contributions to the campus community as one of the founders for a Native American and Indigenous student orgranization, NAISA. He is also responsible for the development and implementation of the Latino Leadership Institute, a mentoring program for Latino/Latina students.
