James M. Vaughn is an Assistant Professor in the Department of History at the University of Texas at Austin and a historian of eighteenth- and nineteenth-century Britain and the British Empire. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 2009 and his first book, The Politics of Empire at the Accession of George III, will be published by Yale University Press in 2016.
