Course Description
This course will provide students with detailed and general anthropological information on some of the material culture and artistic productions of the Americas. A number of social formations and their material realizations will be presented. Emphasis will be given not only to the material culture and visual arts involved in ritual performances but also to more theoretical and conceptual aspects such as Death, Sacrifice, Mythohistory, Sacred Geography and Cosmology.
