Course Description

DESCRIPTION: This course will explore the economic and cultural forces shaping US immigrant media, i.e., newspapers and magazines, radio, TV, and digitally produced media that target the US immigrant audience. The class will analyze historical and contemporary Latino and Asian-American media, as well as that produced for other specific target audiences, such as Iranian-Americans in Los Angeles and Haitian immigrants in Miami.
