Panelists will discuss: (1) a recent report highlighting human rights violations at two immigrant detention centers in Texas and the response from Texans United for Families; (2) the Hutto Visitation Program's attempt to break the isolation of detention to a women-only detention center just outside of Austin; and (3) the impact of Operation Streamline, a program that shifts immigration into the federal criminal justice system by criminally prosecuting immigrants for entering or reentering the country without authorization.
