Lecture: "Cherán and the New challenges of Mexican Indigenous Communities (Purhépecha)"

Lorena Ojeda, Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo in Morelia, Mexico, is a Mexican historian specializing in Latin American History and indigenous communities. She holds a MA in Latin American Studies from UT Austin and a PhD from the Universidad Pablo de Olavide in Spain.  She authored the books Traditional Purhépecha Festivities and Ceremonies, and The Establishment of the Centralism in Michoacán, 1835-1846 and has lectured in Mexico, Spain, Peru, and the United States of America.
