Lecture: "Foodways of Mexico—The Michoacan Dinner: Behind the Scenes"

This installment of Foodways of Mexico series brings together a group of chefs to engage in conversations about food from Michoacan and cooking for the Authentic Mexico Gourmet Gala. Rachel Laudan, renowned food historian and author, will provide an introduction to the event to contextualize Mexican cuisine within broader themes of history and culture. Iliana de la Vega, acclaimed chef and owner of El Naranjo, will moderate the discussion as she interviews five chefs who specialize in Mexican cooking: Ruth Alegria, Benedicta Alejo, Cynthia Martinez, Rubi Silva, and Kirsten West. Come and listen as these featured chefs share behind-the-scenes stories of Michoacan cuisine.
