Biography
Butzer regularly teaches Geoarchaeology and Environmental History; Indigenous maps, Architecture, and Enculturation in Colonial Mexico; Landscape, Society and Meaning; Research and Issues in Geography
Butzer's research intrests are Environmental history; Human impact on the environment; Colonial Mexico; Mediterranean soil erosion; Climatic change in Egypt; Land cover change in 19th century Australia
