Outreach
LLILAS Outreach works to enhance knowledge and understanding of Latin America in K-12 and postsecondary schools, businesses, civic and nonprofit organizations, the media, and the general public.
Outreach brings the resources of the institute to a variety of programs, including a multi-media resource lending library, through which materials are loaned free of charge to users nationwide; a speakers' bureau comprising students and faculty; ArtesAméricas, a joint project with UT's Performing Arts Center that presents Latin American and Latino artists; curriculum development; and more.
In addition to its own outreach projects, LLILAS works in partnership with the three other National Resource Centers (NRCs) on the UT campus. Hemispheres, UT's international area studies outreach consortium, is dedicated to the study and teaching of Latin America; the Middle East; Russia, Eastern Europe & Eurasia; and South Asia. Hemispheres provides world studies content to schools, businesses, and community groups.
