Republic of Mexico Solidaridad Endowed Presidential Fellowship
Objective
In 1991, the President of The University of Texas at Austin endowed this fellowship to honor the visit of Mexico’s President Carlos Salinas de Gortari to our campus. This fellowship is intended to support research on any topic about Mexico that will be incorporated into a thesis, policy report, or dissertation submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements to complete a graduate or undergraduate degree.
Eligibility
Mexican citizens who are pursuing any academic major at the undergraduate and graduate level at UT Austin may apply for this fellowship.
Documents to present:
- Application form (PDF, 73K)
- Curriculum vitae (one to two pages maximum)
- Current transcript of studies at UT Austin
- Two letters of recommendation from faculty members who have taught applicant at UT Austin
- A brief statement (maximum two pages, single-spaced) outlining the specific ways in which the scholarship would further the student research, taking care to specify directly how the work will be incorporated into a final product (chapter, research paper, core data for a policy report, etc.). Avoid broad statements, such as part of a dissertation or a paper to be submitted as part of the Ph.D. degree requirements.
Stipend
The stipend will be disbursed over the course of two semesters.
Proposals must be submitted no later than February 22, 2008.
