Grants for Summer Research in Mexico 2008
Description
This is a fellowship for UT graduate students and faculty who wish to conduct research about Mexico during summer 2008. Preference will be given to those researchers who plan to conduct research within Mexico. Awards will range from $500 to $2,000 and priority will be given to proposals that are matched by funds from the researcher’s home department. Awards will be announced by late March and funds will be available immediately from that date. All receipts from the project must be submitted to the researcher’s home department no later than August 25, 2008.
Eligibility
Applicants must be either a graduate student enrolled full-time at UT and in good academic standing or a member of the faculty.
Selection Criteria
- Applications will be reviewed based on the following criteria
- Letter of recommendation from adviser (for graduate student applicants only)
- Contribution of the project to the study of Mexico
- Soundness of research design
- Quality of the proposal

Please send to the Mexican Center
- A one- to two-page vita
- A signed application form (PDF, 57K)
- A description of your proposal no more than two pages in length
- A budget for your proposed project
- A letter of recommendation from the faculty adviser for graduate students emphasizing why your project is relevant to the study of Mexico, your ability to carry out the project, and the recommender’s working relationship to you on the project.
