About the Central American Resource Group...

Organized in 2005, the Central American Resource Group at the Teresa Lozano Long Institute of Latin American Studies (LLILAS) is the umbrella organization that covers a diversity of resources - faculty, library holdings, research institutes, and student programs - related to Central America at the University of Texas. Central American Studies is not a center, but rather a virtual clearing house designed to organize and disseminate relevant information to faculty, visiting scholars, and students who have an interest in Central America. Central American Studies' mission is to increase scholarly, policy, and public understanding of the region. Central American Studies seeks to coordinate and promote awareness of the region at UT-Austin and beyond. It also strives to be a resource for scholars, policy-makers, and activists working within Central America.
