LLILAS alum and former LANIC GRA Maria Sacchetti, a lead reporter for the Boston Globe, is in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, reporting firsthand on rescue and relief efforts in the wake of the devastating earthquake there on January 12.
Maria, who is travelling with a Globe photographer, has filed several stories, as well as audio and video reports, with firsthand accounts of the situation. One of the first articles Maria filed is Bereft in rubble, they stagger, dig: Help has yet to reach most in crushed city. You can read all of Maria's articles from Haiti, as well as view her video reports and accompanying photos, at the Globe's Haiti Earthquake coverage page.
Additional sources for news and information from Haiti, as well as information on donating to the relief effort, can be found in the LANIC Newsroom.
