Law Professor Karen Engle Receives Fulbright Specialists Award

A grant to UT Law Professor Karen Engle from the U.S. Department of State and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board has enabled her to participate in a project with students at the Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia.
Engle, who is Cecil D. Redford Professor in Law and founding director of the Rapoport Center for Human Rights and Justice at the University of Texas, spent Aug. 11–26 in Bogotá consulting with doctoral students on academic writing and presenting lectures to law students on gender and international criminal justice. She also presented a public lecture on her forthcoming book, The Elusive Promise of Indigenous Development: Rights, Culture, Strategy (Duke University Press, 2010).
