CMAS-Benson Announce Short-Term Research Fellowships

The Center for Mexican American Studies (CMAS) at the University of Texas at Austin announces its first annual competition for three short-term research fellowships at the Nettie Lee Benson Latin American Collection in the fields of Mexican American and Borderlands studies, with an application deadline of June 4, 2012.
The fellowships are for postdoctoral scholars, PhD candidates, or holders of other terminal degrees from outside the Austin area who have a specific need to use the Mexican American and Borderlands collections at the Benson Library, one of the foremost research libraries containing materials pertaining to these areas. Fellowships, which cover travel and housing, are for two weeks with a maximum award of $750. Recipients will be announced June 15, with residencies beginning July 1.
