The Latin American History program at The University of Texas at Austin has been ranked #1 by U.S. News and World Report magazine in its 2008 rankings of America's Best Graduate Schools. The rankings were based on expert opinion about program quality and statistical indicators that measure the quality of a school's faculty, research, and students.
Latin American History was one of eight programs within UT’s College of Liberal Arts that were ranked among the nation's best. The others are: Sociology of Population (5th), Psychology (12th), Sociology (14th), History (19th), English (19th), Economics (25th), and Political Science (25th).
The rankings appeared in the April 9 edition of U.S. News and World Report.
