Joseph Potter Awarded Grant

Joseph Potter, Department of Sociology, has been awarded a $2.2 million grant from the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development for a five-year collaboration with UT El Paso to study oral contraceptive use along the U.S.-Mexico border.

The study will examine women's safe and effective use of oral contraceptives when they are presecribed by a healthcare provider, as required in in U.S., versus when they are available over-the-counter, as is the case in Mexico.
