Our seminars are designed for professionals from Latin America who want to gain a U.S. or U.S.–Latin American perspective in these fields, and for U.S. professionals seeking a fuller understanding of Latin America.

The core strength of our program is the diversity and expertise of our speakers and our small class size. Seminars average 20–30 participants, giving you extensive time to interact with speakers. Speakers come from a wide variety of backgrounds including:

Who We Are

LLILAS

The Teresa Lozano Long Institute of Latin American Studies (LLILAS) is the oldest and most distinguished institute of its kind in the United States. We are the foremost center for the study of Latin America in the nation, with more than 130 faculty who focus on the region. We house the unparalleled Benson Latin American Collection, and maintain strong ties with Latin American universities through student exchange, visiting professorships, and collaborative research.

Founded in 1883, UT is one of the largest and most respected public research universities in the nation. Ours is a diverse learning community, with students from more than 100 countries and a student body that reflects the face of our society. We are home to impressive cultural archives such as the Harry Ransom Center, the Blanton Museum of Art, and the Lyndon Baines Johnson presidential library and are recognized for our strengths in business, engineering, history, and law.

Somos el principal centro para el estudio de América Latina en la nación, contando con más de 130 profesores que se especializan en la región. Somos casa de la Colección Benson Latinoamericana, especializada en material relacionado con América Latina. Así mismo, mantenemos fuertes lazos con universidades latinoamericanas a través de intercambio estudiantil, programas de profesores visitantes e investigaciones colaborativas.
