Course Description

THIS COURSE INTRODUCES STUDENTS TO LATIN AMERICAN HISTORY AND CULTURE THROUGH FILM, READINGS, DOCUMENTARIES, CLASS DISCUSSION AND LECTURES. ONE GOAL IS TO EXPLORE SIGNIFICANT INFLUENCES THAT HAVE MOLDED LATIN AMERICAN HISTORY FROM THE CONQUEST THROUGH THE PRESENT. STUDENTS WILL VIEW FILMS THAT EXPLORE SUCH TOPICS, AND THEN DISCUSS THE FILM WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SOURCE READINGS.

Grading Policy

THERE WILL BE A A MIDTERM, A FINAL AND PAPER. DISCUSSION 25% MIDTERM 25% FINAL 25% PAPER 25%
