Visiting Professors
- Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long Annual Visiting Professorship
This endowment supports two to four visiting scholars from a Latin American country to teach at UT for one semester.
- Tinker Visiting Professor
The goal of the Tinker Visiting Professor program has been to bring pre-eminent thinkers from Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula to the United States as a means of encouraging contact and collaboration among scholars.
- Chair for the Study of Western Hemispheric Trade
This endowment underwrites the costs of bringing scholars to UT Austin to teach, participate in conferences, or give lectures.
- Visiting Resource Professors
Visiting Resource Professors are invited by UT Latin Americanist faculty members to lecture for one to two weeks in either undergraduate or graduate classes.
- Instituto Rio Branco Visiting Chair in Brazilian Studies
One of the main objectives of the Instituto Rio Branco Visiting Chair is to encourage the study of and research on Brazil in internationally renowned universities.
- Matías Romero Visiting Chair in Mexican Studies
This chair was created in 2003 to promote the presence and participation of distinguished Mexican scholars to foster greater understanding of Mexican culture and society.
Visiting Scholars and Visiting Researchers
Due to the outstanding Benson Latin American Collection and its affiliation with the Teresa Lozano Long Institute of Latin American Studies (LLILAS), many scholars choose to spend sabbatical or other research leave at the University of Texas at Austin.
