Bollywood in the Park: Exploring South Asian Diaspora Experiences of Public Leisure Space

Dr. Beccy Watson of Leeds Metropolitan University in the UK will give a lecture entitled “Bollywood in the Park: Exploring South Asian Diaspora Experiences of Public Leisure Space” as a part of her extended visit to the UT-Austin campus as a Visiting Researcher within the Department of Sociology. The lecture will be on Wednesday March 9th from 4-5:30pm in BURDINE 214. It is open to the university community and the general public.
Dr. Watson is a Principal Lecturer in the Carnegie Faculty at Leeds Metropolitan University. She teaches sociological and cultural aspects of leisure and sport and is part of the Carnegie Research Institute, contributing to work on diversity, equity and inclusion. Her research interests include gender and leisure, ethnicity and identity and changing cities. Dr Watson is one of the Managing Editors for the journal Leisure Studies, published by Routledge.
