Thu, March 31, 2011 • 6:00 PM • UTC 2.102A
In this event, the MSA is hoping to raise awareness about the misconceptions about Islam and Muslims that have recently become prevalent in our society, especially pertaining the the definition of Shari'ah Law and what it means for Muslims and non-Muslims. Through this, we hope to understand the notion of Islamophobia and Shari'ah Law, clarify as to whether this fear is in fact a reality, and ultimately discuss the implications of this type of phobia. The speaker will be Mohamed Elibiary, the co-founder of the Freedom and Justice Foundation.
