Peter Manuel has researched and published extensively on musics of South Asia, the Caribbean, and elsewhere. His books include Cassette Culture: Popular Music and Technology in North Indian Music, and East Indian Music in the West Indies, and he has also produced two documentary videos on Indo-Caribbean music. He teaches ethnomusicology at the CUNY Graduate Center.
