Public Lectures by Dr. Shershah Syed and Sheema Kirmani

Dr. Shershah Syed is a gynecologist, writer, humanitarian and women’s rights  activist. He is the founder of Koohi Goth Women’s in rural Sind, Pakistan where he and his colleagues provide free of cost services to repair vesicular vaginal and recto vaginal fistulas. His work addresses this devastating problem in a women’s life and his efforts to alleviate this affliction. For more information on Dr. Shershah Syed, please visit the following link-

Sheema Kirmani is a Pakistani exponent of Bharatnatyam. She is the founder of Tehrik-e-Niswan (the women’s movement), an organization that for the past thirty years has been dedicated to struggle for women’s rights. She combines dance with activism  which includes mobile theatre in poor localities of the city. She teaches dancing and also acts for the stage and television.
