Institute Announces a 2-day workshop for College Faculty: Further Perspectives on Gandhi and the Concept of Non-violence

Participants in this workshop will be introduced by UT faculty to a wider view within which to understand Mahatma Gandhi and the concept of ahimsa (non-violence) in the context of Indian traditions. Particular attention will be paid to contemporary scholarship on Gandhi and his broad, iconic uses in such arenas as nationalist ideology. This workshop will enable participants to better understand the global development and place of non-violence and, from this, expand their thinking about the work of leaders such as Dr. Martin Luther King.
