Foreign Service - Information Session

Whitney Wiedeman, a current Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. State Department is in the Austin area between assignments.  He has graciously agreed to come and share his experience and advice on Foreign Service opportunities with you.

Please join us on Thursday, Nov. 29th at 12:15 in Sid Richardson Hall, Rm. 3.124 to welcome Mr. Wiedeman and learn from his experience.

Here is a short bio:

Whitney S. Wiedeman has served as a Foreign Service Officer for the U.S. Department of State since 2007, serving tours in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico and Düsseldorf, Germany.  Prior to joining the Foreign Service, he worked as both a prosecutor and a criminal defense attorney in Texas.  Mr. Wiedeman was born in Louisville, Kentucky, and graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Plan II, and later from The University of Texas School of Law.  He speaks Spanish and German, in addition to English.  Mr. Wiedeman is married and has two children.  He is currently preparing for his onward assignment to Bogotá, Colombia.
