Freshman Honors Program Class of 2009

Fri, Jul 1, 2005

The Liberal Arts Freshman Honors Program welcomes 135 new members to its entering class for fall 2005. The new students come from communities across Texas, and from schools in New York, Mississippi, and the District of Columbia. Eighty-five percent of the class come from public high schools, and fifteen percent come from communities outside large urban areas. Selected from a pool of 505 applicants, the LAH freshmen are an exceptionally accomplished group, including seven students who ranked first in their graduating classes.

LAH peer advisers and staff advisers work closely with entering students at summer orientation, and the Liberal Arts Honors Student Council pairs incoming freshmen with peer mentors for the fall. A Freshman Lunch kicks of the fall semester at noon on Tuesday August 30 in the Santa Rita Room of the Texas Union.
