National Scholarships

The Liberal Arts Honors Programs Office supports the application for several prestigious post-baccalaureate scholarships for students in any college at The University of Texas at Austin. Many students from our university have successfully competed for these scholarships in past years. 

The Beinecke Scholarship carries awards of $34,000 for Graduate Study in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.  One applicant from UT - Austin will be nominated each year. Applications must be submitted by 5pm on Wednesday, February 3, 2016.

Gates Cambridge Scholarship enables exceptional graduate students form outside the United Kingdom to study at the University of Cambridge. Students interested in the Gates Cambridge Scholarship may contact the program directly for conditions of eligibility, application materials, and deadlines.  

Mitchell Scholarship is a national competitive fellowship sponsored by the US-Ireland Alliance. Please contact the Liberal Arts Honors Director for application deadlines. 

Rhodes Scholarships funds one to two full years of graduate study leading to a degree from Oxford University.  The deadline for submitting completed applications, one copy including recommendation letters, for the 2009 competition to the UT - Austin Selection Committee is Friday, August 28, 2015.

Marshall Scholarships funds one to two full years of graduate study leading to a degree in Great Britain. The deadline for submitting completed applications, one copy including recommendation letters, for the 2009 competition to the UT - Austin Selection Committee is Friday, August 28, 2015.

Truman Scholarship provides up to $30,000 in funding to students pursuing graduate degrees in public service fields. The UT - Austin deadline for the Truman application will be Friday, October 30, 2015.
