LAITS Labs

The Liberal Arts Instructional Technology Services Computer Media Lab consists of two labs: a first-come, first-served General-Use Lab available to all University of Texas at Austin students, faculty, and staff; and a Classroom Lab which may be reserved for use by College of Liberal Arts instructors.

General Use Lab Mezes 2.104

Individual Use Stations

  • 10 Macintoshes
  • 27 Windows PCs

All stations have a network connection, general internet applications (web browser, FTP, telnet), and the Microsoft Office suite. We also offer support for word processing and web browsing in many foreign languages.

Classroom Lab Mezes 2.120

26 Apple iMac computers capable of running both Apple and Windows operating systems. These machines include DVD-ROM drives, general internet applications, and the Microsoft Office Suite (including Japanese language capability within Microsoft Word).

All reservations for the classroom lab are on a first-come, first-served basis. Email requests to reservation@mail.laits.utexas.edu. In your request please include the requested class times, day of the week, dates, and information regarding the software and services you require.

Policies

  • Computers and A/V equipment are available on a first-come, first-served basis
  • All stations are for individual use only
  • No food, tobacco, or non spill-proof drinks are allowed
  • We are on the BevoBucks printing system. To print you will have to have BevoBucks and login with your UT EID. We offer black and white laser printing at the rate of $.06 per page plus tax. For information on how to setup BevoBucks contact the UT Helpdesk at 475-9400.
