The College of Liberal Arts uses combination of commercial and in-house applications. As the primary content creators, departments and administrative divisions are able to create, edit, and maintain their content through the Cascade Content Management System (CMS) and an in-house database application. LAITS remains a part of the content management process, however the role of LAITS is to support the college users rather than to create or maintain the college content.
LAITS is still be available to assist and support the development of new content as needed. The development of new functionality, for example, would certainly involve our services; depending on its complexity, the development of new content may or may not. The primary process of editing and maintaining all existing content will transition to trained staff members of the college and departmental administration.
As part of our Departmental Web Services, documentation and tutorials for Cascade CMS and our database application, as well as guides and best practices for web content production, are available on the College of Liberal Arts Guides web site.

Faculty are encouraged to publish their course descriptions, syllabi, and professional information on their personal Faculty Profile pages. Each faculty member may log-in to our database application using their UT EID to edit the information that appears on each affiliated department, center, institute, and program web site.
