Liberal Arts faculty needing assistance with small web and graphic design projects may contact Suloni Robertson for project scope and timeline assessment.
Student Technology Assistants (STAs) working under Suloni’s supervision and art direction carry through small projects like those below, generally at no cost to Liberal Arts faculty. These include website design, banners, graphics, logos, fliers, posters, and newsletters as well as photography, illustration, scanning, and image handling.
LAITS provides professional photography services for COLA faculty and graduate student profile pages. We also offer on-site photography for departmental feature stories (see examples) and other web graphics.
Contact Ryan Miller for more information.
LAITS professional staff and STAs work with faculty to create web designs for academic units as well as conference and lab websites. In an initial meeting, we'll assess project details and goals. Our design team then creates a choice of two alternative mockups. An STA will fully realize the chosen design, providing up to two revisions of the selected mockup.
With guidance and supervision from professional staff, STAs design and implement websites for departments, centers, programs, initiatives, and institutes. STAs also tutor faculty and staff in using the college's Cascade content management system and related tools to manage content for these sites. Contact Andre Leroux for more information.
LAITS-developed conference and lab sites typcially use the WordPress content management system. WordPress allows clients to update their sites.
LAITS professional staff and STAs create branding and unique visual identities for both web and print including banners, illustrations, and logos.
For special events, lectures, or other news, the LAITS design team creates flyers, posters, postcards, and newsletters.
LAITS provides scanning services for documents, photographs, slides, and negatives. Services include image handling, sizing, and editing.
Small scanning projects (200 images or fewer) are assigned on a first-come first-serve basis to STAs and completed as time permits. Small projects are free of charge to Liberal Arts faculty. Larger projects (over 200 images) are considered case by case and could incur a fee.
As resources permit, scanning services are available to faculty outside the College of Liberal Arts. A university account will be required in order to bill labor charges to the appropriate UT entity.
