Wen-Hua Teng and Samuel Baker to present instructional projects
Wen-Hua Teng, Lecturer of Chinese, will present Chinese Take-in, a Mandarin Chinese listening comprehension tool. Chinese Take-In provides an interactive environment where first-year Chinese learners can practice listening outside the classroom according to individual needs and paces while receiving immediate feedback.
Samuel Baker, Associate Professor of English, will present on the eCommentary Machine. The "eComma" web application enables groups of students, scholars, or general readers to build collaborative commentaries on a text and to search, display, and share those commentaries online. Baker will present on how the tool is being deployed across a number of departments and courses at the university.
The Liberal Arts Instructional Technology Services holds monthly "Friday Technology Forum" presentations, designed to showcase the ways faculty put technology to work in the classroom.
