Liberal Arts ITS is proud to announce the release of a web site for the Taiwan Studies Program in the Department of Asian Studies: http://www.laits.utexas.edu/taiwanstudies/
The web site presents information about and resources for the new Taiwan Studies program here at UT, including upcoming and recent events put on by the faculty and graduate students. Most of the information on the web site is available in both English and Chinese.
Dr. Sung-sheng Yvonne Chang and one of the program's graduate students, Peilin Liang, were instrumental in the site development. The design is courtesy of Eric Wang, with implementation by LAITS graphic designer Suloni Robertson, web developer Kate Broussard and student technology assistant David Johannes.
In the spring of 2009, the Department of Asian Studies appointed its first Taiwan Studies postdoctoral research fellow, organized public lectures, roundtables, and workshops on Taiwan’s literature, cinema, and society. Beginning in Fall 2010, undergraduate students will be able to major in Taiwan Studies at the University of Texas at Austin.
