Alumnus Recognized for Work on Endangered Languages

The committee on endangered languages of the Comité International Permanent des Linguistes (CIPL) has awarded our alumnus B'alam Mateo Toledo (Ph.D., 2008) the CIPL prize for work on endangered languages. This cash prize is awarded every six years at the Congrès International des Linguistes, which met this year in Geneva, Switzerland from July 21- 27, 2013. Dr. Mateo Toledo is a professor at CIESAS-Sureste in Chiapas, Mexico. CIESAS is an important Mexican graduate institution in anthropology.
