Lecture: "Security and the Economy on the Border: Mexico and the U.S. Must Collaborate"

Wed, April 25, 2012 | Mabee Ballroom A, Ragsdale Center, St. Edward's University, 3001 S. Congress Ave.

12:00 PM - 1:30 PM

The U.S. and Mexico are connected through trade, labor, and financial flows and Mexico is the U.S.'s third-largest trading partner. Yet the economic crisis, drug cartels and organized crime, and globalization and technological change threaten economic and social integration.

Dr. Gustavo Vega-Canovas, Matias Romero Visiting Chair in Mexican Studies at LLILAS, UT Austin, advocates for collaboration between the Mexican and U.S. governments for security and economic integration.

Free and open to the public, but RSVP is required.  For more information and to RSVP by April 19th, please e-mail meris@stedwards.edu.
