Exhibit Opening: "¡A Viva Voz!—Cartoonista: An Evening with Lalo Alcaraz"

Thu, April 4, 2013 | Nettie Lee Benson Latin American Collection, SRH Unit 1

7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

We invite you to join us for a visit with Lalo Alcaraz, artist, cartoonist, and writer.  The evening will include an exhibit of Alcaraz's unique and thought-provoking artwork, with comments by UT art professor George Flaherty on Alcaraz's contributions chronicling Latino/a ascendancy in the U.S. since the early 1990s. In 2002, Alcaraz created La Cucaracha, the first nationally syndicated Latino political comic strip, which runs in a broad spectrum of newspapers.
