Noted Cuban-U.S. journalist, novelist, translator, and LGBT activist Achy Obejas will read from and discuss her novel Days of Awe.

Achy Obejas was born in Havana and spends considerable time on the island.  She is the author of the award-winning novel Days of Awe and the collection of poetry This is What Happened in Our Other Life. She is a prolific translator and produced the Spanish version of The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz.  She is currently Writer in Residence at Mills College in Oakland, California.
