MES Travel Awards

Online application

DMES/CMES offers travel fellowships to help defray the costs such as airfare, lodging, and registration fees associated with delivering conference presentations. Students must submit the online application form (link above), and upload:  1) an abstract of the paper to be presented, and; 2) documentation that the paper has been accepted by the conference organizers. Applicants must additionally email evidence of all pertinent costs (airfare, hotel, etc.) to the MES Graduate Coordinator. Students who attend the same conference are expected share a room in order to keep costs manageable. It is acceptable to submit more than one travel request per academic year, but funding limits will apply. Food is not a reimburseable expense.

Travel Restrictions:  Depending on the international destination, overseas travel may first require travel authorization through the Study Abroad Office. Many Middle Eastern countries have travel warnings, are considered restricted regions, and therefore require prior approval before funding can be released to the student. Please begin on this page to learn more about potential restrictions and to initiate the travel authorization if necessary.
