BNCO's Message

I am thrilled to welcome you to the Naval ROTC Battalion at the University of Texas. I am Midshipman First Class Cecilia Beavers, and I have the honor of being the Battalion Commanding Officer for the 2016 Fall Semester. Our program continues in a 241 year tradition of military excellence that is our Navy and Marine Corps. Take pride in being a part of a rich tradition.

This semester I challenge the members of the Battalion to apply 100% effort 100% of the time. Our profession of arms begins here. During this process to become Navy and Marine Corps Officers, you will be pushed to develop yourself morally, mentally, and physically in preparation for the challenges of leadership that lie ahead.

The few years we all spend as Midshipmen at the University of Texas will fly by. The memories and friendships that are formed will last a life time. Remember to look up every now and again to enjoy the people and things around you.

Finally, I want to say that I expect your very best because our Nation needs your best. Your friends, family, fellow Midshipmen, and advisors are here to help. We are starting this semester with a blank slate, so let’s make our mark. Hook’em!
