About Us
Hemispheres provides quality, free and low-cost resources that enhance understanding of diverse world regions to K-12 and post-secondary educators, business, the media, and civic and community groups.
Knowledge of other cultures and peoples is relevant to us all. Teachers strive to educate their students to be informed global citizens. Many service organizations assist foreign ethnic groups. Community associations, school clubs, and church groups frequently affirm a philosophical commitment to learning about our neighbors both near and far. Businesses expand into different world regions with which they have had little contact.
Hemispheres, comprised of the University of Texas' four federally-funded National Resource Centers (NRCs) dedicated to the study and teaching of Latin America; the Middle East; Russia, Eastern Europe & Eurasia; and South Asia offers a variety of free and low-cost services to all these groups and more.
Using the resources of one of the nation's largest universities, Hemispheres works with K-12 and post-secondary schools, civic and non-profit organizations, business, the media, and governmental agencies to foster knowledge and understanding of these regions in our classrooms and communities.
As Hemispheres we are able to employ the resources of a large University to coordinate free and low-cost services for students, teachers, businesses, community groups, the media, and the general public. With our network of campus affiliates and partners, we can expand our services to provide comprehensive services to a wide variety of audiences on an almost limitless number of topics.
