The Liberal Arts Job Search

Ever since you arrived at UT, you've probably been asked a simple, but annoying question. You tell someone what you're majoring in, and the next thing they say is, "What are you going to do with that?"

Well have no fear. The question, while understandable, is misguided. It's not "What are you going to do with your major?", it's "What do you want to do? And how can you demonstrate through your major, your other classes, and your experiences that you can do it?"

A liberal arts education provides a solid foundation for whatever career you want to pursue. And that's the challenge-- sometimes it's hard to decide what you want to do. Or maybe there are ten things you want to do and you can't decide what to pursue first.

That's why we're here. We are specialists in the liberal arts job search. We only work with liberal arts students and we've been working with them for many years, so we know what the job market is like and we know what tricks and techniques will help you succeed.

We bring in employers who are specifically seeking liberal arts students, but we also know that many employers you're interested in are not coming to campus. That's why we have alternate ways for you to connect with the myriad opportunities available beyond the tower.

The best way to get started is to stop by LACS and schedule an appointment to see a career coach. Check out our library and explore this website. A whole world is waiting for you and we'll help you get started.
