Jobs, Schedules and Internships
Jobs
"Job" in the system refers to:

  • a job or internship posted without an on-campus interview schedule.
  • a job or internship for which resumes are collected and sent to the employer, who will then follow-up directly with the student.
  • a reoccurring job or internship program posted with general application information.

Interview Schedule

  • 'Interview Schedule' refers to a job or internship for which the employer will conduct on-campus interviews. Interviews are held at Liberal Arts Career Services, the Ford Career Center, or Communication Career Services.

Job and Internship Search

  • LACS is working to build a dynamic database of internship and job opportunities in Austin, Texas, across the nation and around the world. While we build the database, we recommend you use as few search criteria as possible in order to yield the largest results in the BTT Gateway system.
  • BTT Gateway > Jobs > Click on Job ID.

How to Apply for a Job/Internship

  • Complete your on-line profile.
  • Upload your resume (please allow 2 business days for approval of the first uploaded resume, details below) and other required documents when requested.
  • Click on 'Jobs'.
  • Click on the 'Job ID' of interest to you, you will only have access to those for which you qualify.
  • Click 'Submit Resume'.
  • Select the appropriate resume and other documents when appropriate (many employers request only a resume). Please remember - you must turn off your pop-up window blocker in order to select your resume for application. If the employer requires more than one document (ex: resume and cover letter), you must submit both at the same time.
  • You can check that your application was made by reviewing your account activity. My Account > My Activity > Referrals

LACS Disclaimer
Please note that job listings are presented as a service to our registrants. We cannot guarantee the validity or accuracy of the job information posted. It is the job seeker's responsibility to independently review all organizations, contracts, and job offers. Here are two websites on researching an organization and employment scams: QuintCareers.Com or RileyGuide.Com.

Applying For On-Campus Interviews
LACS promotes our on-campus interviewing opportunities on our website, at BTT Gateway and via the college departments. When you find a position of interest to you and for which you qualify, be sure to complete your BTT Gateway profile, upload your resume and apply in advance of the deadline. Ensure that you prepare in advance to allow time for your resume to be approved.

Future Schedules vs Qualified Schedules
Future Schedules: Future Schedules lists all interview opportunities currently listed with Liberal Arts Career Services, whether currently open or with a future application start date.
Qualified Schedule: Qualified Schedules list only those interview opportunities for which you are qualified based on the qualifications specified by the employer. These positions are open to you according to your qualifications.

How Employers Screen Students
Employers have the right to screen student applicants based on the following five criteria: Major, GPA, Graduation Date, Classification and Work Authorization Status. Due to employer screening of applicants, you may not have access to some opportunities based on the employer specified qualifications.

LACS No-Show Policy
See our LACS Student Registration Agreement for no-show policy details.

Support of Equal Employment Opportunity Laws
Liberal Arts Career Services supports EEO laws. Federal law prohibits any discrimination by an employer based on race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, gender-orientation or non-job related physical or mental disabilities. If you feel that you have been discriminated against in the employment process, you should inform a member of the Liberal Arts Career Services staff.

Allow Employers To Search For You
You may make your profile searchable to employers by selecting 'Allow Employer Viewing' in the profile section of your BTT Gateway account. By selecting 'Allow Employer Viewing', employers will be able to view your 'default resume' and parts of your profile (exception: address, phone, ethnicity, personal information). If you are contacted by an employer, you will be given a full description of the opportunity so that you may decide to accept or decline the interview.

Please Note: LACS takes no responsibility for or control over employers who may distribute your resume or information without your consent.
